{real} lego mania with a twist!
I don’t know about you, but with one boy in my house we are up to our eyeballs with Legos!! I recently had the privileged to plan a party for a super fabulous mom of 3 boys! Three…goodness…I can’t fathom how many Legos they have in their house. This Lego party was inspired by some really cool printables from Printables by Amy. How fun is the color palette of these printables? Love them!
As always, I utilized lots of budget friendly decor. The three inexpensive key ingredients were: 12×12 paper, vibrant orange fabric and wrapping paper.
The dinner table was grounded in funky, fun orange polka dots.
Super simple wrapped boxes topped with wrapped pegs created 2 giant Lego centerpieces and centered with a vase filled with yellow and orange centerpieces. Another quick easy touch were the juice boxes turned Legos.
One of the big impact and low cost decorations for the party was the giant SAM Lego Letters. I used my trusty 2″ circle cutter and 12×12 paper to create Lego pieces that spelled Sam in 24″ letters. Another easy idea: transform $.99 boxes of M&M’s into stacks of Legos by wrapping with coordinating gift wrap and cutting circles for the pegs.
More easy ideas: transform plain bags into Legos by using a 2″ circle cutter—whiz bang—favor bags. The bags were stuffed with book marks, a Lego kit and other fun trinkets. Orange cups with popcorn and cheese balls were great snack food additions that kept with the color theme and were easy on the budget.
Love the funny face cupcake toppers!
A few more fun projects that I did with my kids: candy Lego Men, Lego Man heads and candy lego suckers. I found a great idea on I’m Topsy Turvy to create my own molds. What a fun idea! So, I set out to make lego molds with my 8 year old son. The end result were the candy Lego men and Lego suckers. The other really fun and super easy idea I found were those cute marshmallow Lego Man heads. The same talented Amy from Printables by Amy has a blog called Living Locurto and these were one of her party ideas check out the tutorial.
Happy Birthday, Sam! I hope you enjoyed your very Lego 6th birthday extravaganza!!
