{the market} cops and robbers, race cars and picnics

We hope y’all had a fun and relaxing holiday weekend! With our closing date still up in the air, we spent the weekend finishing as many projects, orders and photo shoots as possible. Not sure if we’ll need to close up the PiG PeN next week or next month while we move so we’re trying to prepare for any scenario.

Over the weekend, we had the chance to snap photos of some super fun invitations we created for a few of our favorite party girls. If you haven’t seen their parties yet, you’re in for a real treat! Jenny of Craft That Party asked us to create an invitation that looked like money for her son’s Lego Cops & Robbers Party. We, of course, had to include Lego presidents on the bills!

I love them all but Andrew Jackson’s hair makes me {giggle} every single time I see it! The trio of bills are held together with a money band to mimic a stack of bills that robbers would steal from a safe. We used a Lego-ish font for Jenny’s invitation but we also offer it in a standard font, too.

The Cops & Robbers Invitation is available here as a printable or here if you’d like for us to print and assemble them for you!

A number of years ago we designed a race track invite for a local client then redesigned it into a Video Game Racer Invite for a Mario Kart-themed party last year. When Brittany of GreyGrey Designs asked us to create an invitation for her son’s NASCAR-inspired TWO-lladega Racing Party, I knew exactly where to start! Of course, I wanted to make it extra special so I asked J to create a lil’ stock car that would fit on the track.

Did I mention the car is 3D?

I added a lil’ pop-up adhesive dot to make it look like the car is racing around the invitation! The printable version is available here or have us print and assemble it for you here.

The final invite today was designed for Cineca of Dreamin’ N Details last year. Cineca’s family had just moved to a new house and she hosted a picnic here for her lil’ boy and his friends to celebrate his new backyard! Cineca had some special requests from “lemonade with striped straws” to matching an argyle ribbon she planned to use. Her son also had a very special request…ants. The invitation had to include ants…oh, and bugs, too!

I loved the unique color palette and theme so much that I designed a party around it for the Spring/Summer 2013 issue of Bird’s Party Magazine seen here (pages 64-65). I’ll be sharing party details this week including some super cute and easy crafts you can do with the kiddos!

The Sherbet & Sunshine Invitation is available here as a printable and here if you’d like it printed by us.

I hope you’re inspired to STEAL a few moments to RACE to the park for a lil’ PICNIC with your family and friends!
